Frequently Asked Questions

Are your products suitable for vegans?

Yes! All of our soaps are vegan friendly.

Are your products cruelty free?

Absolutely. It’s massively important to us that none of our products or ingredients have been tested on animals. We test them thoroughly on ourselves though!

Are your products safe for those with nut allergies?

We don’t use any almond oil in our products but we do recommend you research each ingredient carefully for your own peace of mind. Please note our soaps are made in an environment that does handle nut ingredients.

Do your soaps contain palm oil?

No, all of our soap bars are palm oil free and always will be.

What do you mean by cold process soap making and is sodium hydroxide safe?

When we create our soap bars we use a very traditional method called cold process which uses sodium hydroxide (otherwise known as lye) to create a reaction with our oils and butters to form soap. This is called saponification. None of the lye is left behind in the process and therefore none remains in the final soap bars. We use slightly more oils and butters than lye (called superfat) to make sure that there are plenty of skin happy oils in your final soap bar!

Why is my soap bar a slightly different colour and size compared to last time?

All of our bars are made by hand so slight size differences may be observed. Because our essential oils and clays are all natural each batch we use may vary in colour, depending on their source, the weather and growing conditions.

My order hasn’t arrived, what should I do?

Due to Royal Mail being extremely busy they do ask us to expect some delays. However, please do get in touch with us at hello@islesoapco.com with your name and order number and we’ll try our best to help.

Do you ship outside of the UK?

Unfortunately we can only shipping within mainland UK at present.

Can I become a wholesaler of your products?
